Rajat Parr
The Parr Collective—comprising Phelan Farm, Scythian Wine Co., and BRIJ Wines—focuses on authenticity and regenerative farming. With biodynamic practices at Phelan Farm, re-energizing winemaking collaborations at Scythian, and a nod to his Indian heritage with BRij, Rajat’s minimalist winemaking produces vibrant, expressive wines that reflect both region and philosophy.
Farming Note
Both the Gamay and Pinot Noir come from coastal vineyard blocks just a mile from the Pacific, farmed biodynamically and regeneratively. Planted on their own roots, the vines grow in cool, fog-laced conditions with extreme diurnal shifts. The farming is hands-on and intuitive—no irrigation, no synthetic inputs, and deep attention to the rhythms of the site. Everything is done with the goal of growing expressive fruit with as little interference as possible.
Winemaking Note
Native yeast fermentations, whole cluster inclusion, and no additions—just grapes, time, and trust. Both wines are raised in neutral vessels (often old wood or amphora), bottled unfined and unfiltered with little to no sulfur. The goal is clarity without control, letting the energy of the coastal site drive the wine. The results are fresh, tensile, and full of salty lift.
