Weingut Tegernseerhof
Led by fifth-generation winemaker Martin Mittelbach, Weingut Tegernseerhof blends over a thousand years of history with a fiercely modern perspective. Though deeply rooted in tradition, Martin is known in the Wachau for his progressive, precise, and uncompromisingly dry style. Since taking over the family estate at a young age, he has redefined its direction—favoring clarity and structure over residual sugar and opulence.
The wines are meticulously sorted to exclude any botrytis, then vinified and aged entirely in stainless steel, emphasizing focus, minerality, and tension. Martin’s Grüner Veltliners and Rieslings are true to place but unmistakably his own—linear, exacting, and intellectually driven. In a region known for baroque richness, Tegernseerhof stands apart with a style that is taut, clean, and deeply expressive.
Farming Note
All vineyards are farmed by hand without herbicides. The approach is low-intervention, letting each site speak clearly.
Winemaking Note
Martin’s cellar work emphasizes snap and precision. Fermentations are spontaneous, and aging occurs almost entirely in stainless steel...
