Wechsler
Katharina Wechsler farms 17 ha in and around Westhofen, right at the intersection of elegance and edge. She grew up here, left for a career in journalism, and came back with fresh eyes and a clear feel for the limestone. Her farming is organic, her focus is dry wines with structure and quiet clarity. While much of Rheinhessen leans toward scale, her wines lean into nuance. They’re linear, soulful, and honest—made with a sense of calm confidence and deeply rooted intent.
Farming Note
Certified organic farming with low intervention. Katharina works by feel, with a deep sensitivity to site and balance. No dogma—just care, intention, and respect for the land.
Winemaking
All wines are fermented with native yeasts. Minimal sulfur, light filtration. Aging in stainless, fuder, or old barrels depending on the cuvée. Katharina’s approach is hands-off but deliberate—letting the wines take their time with quiet precision.
