ANDREA
Picchioni
In a secluded valley of Oltrepò Pavese, Picchioni farms organically on clay-limestone slopes. The focus is on Croatina and Uva Rara, varieties that thrive in this lesser-known corner of Lombardy. Fermentations are native, macerations are long, and aging takes place in neutral vessels. The wines are deep, earthy, and structured—rustic in the best way.
Farming Note
Certified organic, with no herbicides or systemic treatments. Vines are worked entirely by hand, with cover crops between rows and a sharp focus on soil health and biodiversity.
Winemaking
Spontaneous fermentations. Long macerations. Neutral oak aging. No tricks, no shortcuts. Andrea makes his wines like his grandfather did—just with a finer touch and more intention. Power and structure come naturally from the land.
