Menina d’Uva

Aline Domingues left Paris to reclaim abandoned vineyards in her ancestral village, farming high-elevation schist and quartz plots. The climate is extreme, with cold winters and blistering summers, shaping naturally low-yielding vines. She farms regeneratively, avoiding any intervention that disrupts the ecosystem. Winemaking is raw and patient—spontaneous fermentations, oxidative aging, no sulfur additions. Her wines are bright, salty, and alive.

Farming Note

Menina d’Uva farms by hand in the remote, terraced vineyards of Trás-os-Montes, where schist and gneiss bedrock is topped with sand, gravel, and clay. The approach is organic, uncompromising, and deeply respectful of biodiversity—no chemicals, no shortcuts—just minimal, intentional farming that honors the rugged landscape and the life within it.

Winemaking

Winemaking is natural and low-intervention, guided by native fermentations with no temperature control, no fining, no filtration, and little to no sulfur. Grapes are gently pressed, with skin contact applied thoughtfully where appropriate. Aging takes place slowly in used barrels or stainless steel, allowing each wine to express its energy, texture, and wild sense of place with clarity and honesty.
