Menina d’Uva

Aline Domingues left Paris to reclaim abandoned vineyards in her ancestral village, farming high-elevation schist and quartz plots. The climate is extreme, with cold winters and blistering summers, shaping naturally low-yielding vines. She farms regeneratively, avoiding any intervention that disrupts the ecosystem. Winemaking is raw and patient—spontaneous fermentations, oxidative aging, no sulfur additions. Her wines are bright, salty, and alive.

Wines

Menina d'Uva Vinho Branco, Liquen

Vintage 2022

Style White

Region Trás-os-Montes

Varieties Predominantly Malvasia

ABV Not Specified

Soils Schist and gneiss bedrock with sand, gravel, and clay topsoils

Farming Everything is done by hand, organically and without compromise. The vines grow on old, terraced slopes of schist and gneiss, with natural biodiversity left intact. No chemicals, no shortcuts—just careful, minimal farming in one of the most remote, rugged corners of Portugal.

Winemaking Fermentations are native. There’s no temperature control, no additions, no fining or filtration. Just gentle pressing, a touch of skin contact where it fits, and slow, thoughtful aging in used barrels or stainless steel. Sulfur is either low or nonexistent. These are natural wines made with total intention.

Tasting Note Sharp and clean with stone, citrus, and texture—low-alcohol and full of energy.
