Mauro Marengo

Novello and Barolo—two historic communes where Nebbiolo vines have dug deep into clay and limestone for centuries. This is where Mauro Marengo's family began their journey, and under the guidance of his son Gabriele, the wines have taken on a modern, more refined tone.

Barbera, one of the great crus of Barolo, lends structure and signature tension—red berries meet petals and that unmistakable spring of tannin and earth. Barbera from these hills is bold yet fresh, with plum and blackberry more through a prism of acidity. Nas-Cëtta, the rare local white, is floral and citrus-driven, with a mineral finish that lingers like a good conversation. These wines are grounded in tradition but always looking forward—just like the Marengo family.

Farming Note

All vineyards are organically farmed with a focus on soil health and minimal intervention. The Marengo approach is grounded in site expression—especially the calcareous, clayey, and sandy soils of Novello and Barolo. Farming is sensitive, hands-off, and aimed at preserving freshness, energy, and precision in the fruit.

Winemaking Note

Winemaking is natural, with native yeast fermentation and a restrained, transparent approach. Reds undergo maceration and are aged in neutral oak or stainless steel, depending on the fruit. Whites and Nas-Cëtta are made with no skin contact and see stainless steel or acacia casks. Nothing is rushed. The family favors slow, patient techniques that allow each wine to reflect its origin.”
