Fuentes del Silencio
Tucked into the forgotten highlands of León, Fuentes del Silencio is one of Spain’s most compelling small projects. The story centers on pre-phylloxera vines—some over 100 years old—planted on sandy soils at high elevation. This land has kept its rhythm for a century. Claudio and María are restoring it gently: farming by hand, working organically, and listening closely to the voice of the place. The wines are pure, powerful, and mountain-born—clean, soulful, and grounded in honesty. Nothing forced. Just thoughtful winemaking from a place that still feels wild.
Farming Note
Organically farmed, many of these vines are over 100 years old—tucked into the remote valleys of Castilla y León. They’ve largely withstood modern conversion. No herbicides. No chemicals. Everything is done by hand.
Winemaking
Native fermentations. Aging in used barrels or amphorae. Nothing rushed. Extraction is gentle, additions minimal. Each wine is handled to preserve the soul of these old vines—letting the land speak, with nothing in the way.
