Fazenda
Pradio
In the rugged hills of Galicia’s Ribeira Sacra, just above the Miño River, Xabi Soeanes has carved out a life in quiet cultivation of an abandoned terraced vineyard. Returning home to build something excellent—stone by stone, vine by vine—his small Fazenda Prádio is an independent vision in this steep, south-facing site first planted by Cistercian monks. Working with Galicia’s traditional red and white grapes, Xabi makes honest, grounded wines built from the site itself.
Farming Note
Farming is entirely by hand on steep, terraced slopes. No synthetic inputs. Organically farmed in practice, though not certified—Xabi treats the land with respect and restraint, focusing more on results than on marketing.
Winemaking
Native yeast fermentations. Gentle extraction and cool, slow fermentations. All wines are aged in used barrels or neutral vessels—stainless where appropriate. No additions beyond minimal sulfur. The wines are raw in the best sense: clean, alive, and whole.
