Domaine Vallée Moray

Hervé Grenier is the mind behind Domaine Vallée Moray, a relatively new estate in Montlouis-sur-Loire. His Chenin Blancs are intensely mineral, vibrant, and texturally rich—thanks to his hands-off approach and old vines. His reds, like Arcadienne, are playful blends of Pinot Noir and Gamay, full of energy and character. Hervé’s wines are true expressions of the Loire Valley’s potential, balancing elegance and complexity with ease.”

Farming Note

All vineyards are organically farmed. The Chenin Blanc comes from a mix of clay, flint, sandy loam, and limestone soils in Montlouis-sur-Loire and the broader Loire region. Reds (Côt and Pinot Noir) are from low-yielding, extremely calcareous parcels. The farming remains minimal-intervention, focused on preserving the vineyard’s natural balance, with soils lending energy, tension, and precision to the fruit.

Winemaking Note

Fermentations are spontaneous, using only native yeasts. Whites are aged on lees in neutral vessels to build texture while preserving clarity and freshness. Reds undergo whole-cluster fermentation and age in neutral oak. None of the wines are fined or filtered. The results are raw, expressive, and site-driven.
