amorotti

In the hills of Loreto Aprutino, halfway between the Apennines and the Adriatic, Amorotti crafts wines that feel like they belong to another time. The vineyards are a mosaic of Montepulciano, Trebbiano, and Pecorino, rooted in clay-limestone soils that impart structure and minerality.

Gaetano Carboni-Amorotti sees himself more as a caretaker than a winemaker—letting the land and its history guide his hand. Montepulciano here is dark-fruited and earthy, like the forest after rain. Trebbiano dances with citrus and wildflowers, while Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo—a vibrant rosé—offers strawberry and blood orange, kissed by a subtle savoriness. These are wines of precision and patience, made with native fermentations and a refusal to compromise.”

Farming Note

Amorotti is rooted in the traditions of Abruzzo, with farming that embraces patience, balance, and intention. The vineyards are cultivated with minimal interference, honoring the natural rhythm of the land and focusing on healthy soils and biodiversity. Every decision feels tied to a deep understanding of place.

Winemaking

Amorotti’s winemaking is a study in restraint and tradition. In Loreto Aprutino, Trebbiano thrives under the tendone system, with handpicked fruit fermented on its skins and aged in neutral barrels to build texture and depth without excess. Montepulciano follows suit, with native yeast fermentations and aging in large barrels that give structure without overpowering. The rosé takes a lighter touch, offering a fresh, vibrant perspective on a classic style.”
