Agricola Brandini
Serena and Giovanna Bagnasco have transformed Agricola Brandini into a powerhouse of organic Barolo production. Their Barolos, especially the R56 from 80-year-old vines, are soft, elegant, and approachable, yet built to age. Their Langhe Nebbiolo, Filari Corti, is fresh, lively, and bursting with red fruit and floral notes. Brandini’s wines offer a modern take on Barolo, with a focus on balance and transparency.
Farming Note
All Brandini wines are farmed organically, with a deep focus on sustainability and site expression. The vineyards—spread across key areas of Piedmont like La Morra, Monforte d’Alba, and Roero—feature varied soils including calcareous clay marl, limestone, clay, sand, and sandy soils. Farming practices emphasize balance, vibrancy, and preserving the natural character of each grape variety. High-altitude sites and healthy soils contribute to freshness, structure, and aromatic clarity in the fruit.
Winemaking
Brandini uses traditional, minimal-intervention winemaking techniques across their range. Fermentations are carried out with native yeasts to preserve terroir expression. Depending on the wine, aging takes place in either stainless steel (for freshness and purity) or large, neutral Slavonian oak (for structure and elegance), with no use of heavy oak or over-manipulation. There’s a clear focus on letting the vineyard and variety speak for themselves—no fining, filtering, or modern shortcuts.
